1st Conference Of Chin Students And Youth Federation

The first conference of Chin Students and Youth Ferderation(CSYF) has been hold on 28-29 June 2010 at Chin National Council (CNC) office Aizawl City, Mizoram, India. It was conducted by CNC and six organisation members were participated :-Chin Students’ Union (CSU), Zomi Student and Youth Organization (ZSYO), Chin Youth Association (CYA), Mara Thutly Py (MTP), Zahniet Youth Organization(ZYO) and Chin Youth Conference (CYC). The sixteen leaders were attended including leaders from inside the country. This conference was the first time since established of CSYF.
From CSU, Mr.Laitha (President) and Ms.Lallen Maii were presented. Respectives organisations were given paper presentation regarding the current politics in burma and role of students and youth. They resolusion for serving brigther future of Chin state and it's people was resulted. They had also make crucial step of future plan for Chin state such as protection of environment and  summer education campaign etc. The leader for term 2010-2013 were under the followings:- GS.Mang(President), Peterlian(Vice President), R.Chozah(Gen Secretary), Mr.Laitha(Assi Secretary), Benhur(Financial Secretary) and Ram Lian Mwai(Treasure).

The 10th Election Statement of Chin Students' Union (INDIA)

The Union of Chin Students body has been known as Rangoon University Hill Chin Students' Union was formed in 1946 by a few students of Chin. The aims and purpose of the union was that to fight, struggle and participate in the movement to achieve independence from the British Colonial. Burma's independence on 4th January 1948, the Chin Students were vigilant in extending their roles as a safeguard of the national interest and had played as a strong force on the governments' policies and the entire national issues of social and political agenda, especially on minority ethnic groups. After 1962 of Ne Win government, the Chin Students' Union had been named into Chin Literature and Culture Committee (CLCC) in 1965 as the government fear any Union movement in the field of democracy activity and had been banned those student participants from colleges and universities put in the jail. A student leader Tin Maung Oo of Chin Student had been assassinated by the Gen. Ne Win government. The Chin Students was one of students groups in the uprising movement in 8.8.88. In August1988, Chin Students' Union has reformed in Falam Town, Chin State of Burma and carries on its duties in fighting for democracy and human Rights in Burma as well as for self determination of the Chin people since the Military Regime captured State power by Gun point. After the crackdown of Burma Pro-democracy in 1988 many of Chin Students had be exiled in New Delhi, India continue in forming Chin Students' Union in 1st Oct, 1995.The Chin Students Union has reformed with regular students in New Delhi on1st May 2010 conducted by Chin National Council due to some unstable situation.The result of reforming central committee of Chin Students Union is as below:-

Aims and Objectives of Chin Students' Union

1.       To reform a stable Chin Students’ Union in Chin State, Burma.
2.       To help and elucidate education and social problems of Chin people.
3.       Preserving and promoting Chin literature, culture and tradition.
4.       Advocating on behalf of the people for equality and self-determination in the Union of  Burma together with other minority co-founders of the Union.
